In the call for proposals you will find out what the purpose of the funding round is, who can apply, how much money is available, what conditions your application must meet, how you can submit it and when NWO will make a decision about your application at the latest. As a rule, NWO distributes research grants via a tender procedure. The applications submitted within a funding round are assessed and then ranked on the basis of objective criteria. The best applications end up highest and are therefore the first to be eligible for a subsidy. The grants are awarded in order of this ranking, until the available grant budget has been exhausted.
